Ashford Castle Golf Club
This is a delightful 9 hole parkland course, attached to and managed by Ashford Castle Hotel. For those golfers who wish to participate in an 18 hole game, play may be conducted round twice from the same tees.
Ballinrobe Golf Club
Ballinrobe Golf Club's location on a 300 acre estate is an idyllic setting for such a magnificent championship course. The 7,100-yard, par-73, course was laid out and designed by well-known architect Eddie Hackett and the contoured greens, which are 80% sand based, are playable all year round. This inland golf course, which opened in spring 1995, is characterised by lakes at 7 of the 18 holes, and is laid out to championship standard. It is set in medieval surroundings, with a 13th century tower house next to the 10th tee box.
The club house is a fully restored 250 year old estate house. The course, with its scenic parkland area, is one which will offer a challenge to any golfer with its mature trees, man made lakes, elaborate fairways and traditional stone walls.
World renowned golfer, Padraig Harrington, recently described Ballinrobe Golf Course as '...the finest championship golf course in the West of Ireland.'
Westport Golf Club
Westport Golf Club is a golfing oasis in the colourful town of Westport on the West coast of Ireland. The setting is spectacular and Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain, seems to follow you everywhere on the course.
The 18-hole championship course was designed by Fred Hawtree, designer of the new course at St. Andrews. Lush, rolling hills vary from gentle inclines to mini mountains to provide an outstanding championship test. There is a range of long and short par 3s and 4s, and the 12th and 15th in particular call for exceptional skills.
